Stories vary about the origins of the one-of-a-kind pottery pieces individually selected for Jayne Cairns shard pendant and freshwater pearl necklaces. One tale says that the shards, remnants of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, are gathered from small villages throughout the Chinese countryside.  Another legend is that the shards were found during an archeological dig at the site of a Chinese pottery factory, operating somewhere between the Ming and China dynasties. The mystery of their origin may never be solved.
